UPour Floor: An Easier Way to Pregame Across from Staple’s Center

If you like to do a little pre-gaming before a sporting event at Staple’s Center, Tom’s Urban has a place for you. No, it’s not the restaurant at Tom’s Urban itself, but rather a short flight upstairs inside the restaurant called UPour Floor.   A loft-like space that can accommodate up to 250 guests with taps on beers, wines, kombuchas, cocktails, and coffee.  The name Upour, as your might have guessed it, is to pour your own drinks.

The way it works is when you first check in upstairs at UPour, you’ll be asked for an ID  (21 and over) and a credit card.  In return you’ll receive a Upour floor card.  For the drinks to dispense, you set your floor card on the card slot to activate the tap. You pour your drink and enjoy by the ounce.

Choose from over 50 different taps that includes craft beers with brands like Lagunitas, Firestone, Budweiser, DogFishhead and ciders from Angry Orchard and Wyder’s Cider. Though some of my go to like the 60 minute IPA and the 805 are offered,  I personally would love to see more local craft choices,  Currently, there is only love for Angel City IPA being offered.  But what’s actually surprisingly good were the mixed cocktails here.  Not much description are shown on the name board with the ingredients, but i do like good surprises like their Rum Daisy.  Easy drinking beautiful color drinks that are not only delicious, but tastes fresh. Cocktails that tastes like a well-made cocktail (but coming from a tap).  And lastly if you don’t drink any alcohol, you must try some of their coffee on tap. The delicious nitro infused coffee is dark and creamy great mouth feel.

Gastro-pub California cusine  are also available here that includes bake wings in Italian Parmesan or Buffalo flavor.  To pair with beer, my personal favorite are the pretzel-breadsticks and dip flight.  Slightly crunchy on the outside with soft and chewy center on the inside of the breadstick served with honey mustard, green-chili ranch, and beer cheese for dipping. Another choice for the heartier eater are their pork belly sliders. Fatty, flavorful, and delicious .ruly  They do have a small kitchen here so make sure you order in advance when there’s a large crowd present  To see the whole to choose from on the complete menu, click here.

Of course, coming here doesn’t have to be limited to some pre-gaming.  I find this spot to be one of the best and serene places in DTLA to have great conversation with your party.  Personally, I would come back here again after a game and wait after the traffic dies down.  Do note: Prices vary by different drinks and trying a little of everything is fun, just make sure you don’t go overboard with your pours.
