From February 25-March 3rd, the annual Dine Out Long Beach 2.0 Restaurant Week is back once again to share a week of culinary experience from your favorite restaurants. This year, with nearly 50 restaurants participating, make sure you take the opportunity to make a reservation to your favorite dining establishment.

With Long Beach being a dog-friendly city, over half of the restaurants participating in restaurant week will offer pet friendly “Dine & Dog” patios and side walk tables.  With Long Beach’s mild weather and dog-friendly beaches, these dog-friendly restaurants are the best reward afterwards from a day of fun in the sand. Among those restaurants that welcome dogs are The Crooked Duck, Ocean Market Grill, Rance’s Chicago Pizza, Steamed Cuisine,  Russo’s Italian Ristorante, E.J.’s Pub, Berlin Bistro, and Michael’s Pizzeria in downtown.  For a complete list, please visit www.DineOutLongBeach.com.

Crabcakes offered at The Red Leprechaun

One of the Dog Friendly restaurants participating is  The Red Leprechaun gastropub.  With an Irish influence decor on the inside, they have a dog friendly “Paddy-O” on the outside.  With dishes such as the Blue Crab Cakes topped with in-house garlic aioli and basil walnut pesto, the food is tasty and unexpected delicious. A $20 dinner menu is offered with choices of appetizer, entree, and a dessert.  Patrons will have an opportunity to see Murphy, the house mascot.

During Dine Out Long Beach, restaurants will offer option menus starting at $10 for lunch and starting at $20 for dinner. No tickets or passes are required to enjoy the selection of prix fixe menu from participating restaurants throughout Long Beach at restaurant week.

For the foodies who enjoy taking pictures, participants can enter a #Selfoodie contest at gazettes.com for a chance to a two-night stay at The Willows Historic Palm Springs Inn, once a favorite getaway of Albert Einstein now a popular destination for A-list celebrities.  Included is daily breakfast for two plus evening wine and hors d’oeuvres.  No purchase necessary; subject to availability Sunday-Thursday; March excluded.  Visit  www.thegrunion.com for details.
