House of Blues Anaheim-Opening February 28, 2017

With the closure of House of Blues on the Sunset Strip, the new and highly anticipated House of Blues at the Anaheim Gardenwalk is making it’s debut as the first House of Blues to be built in over a decade. Set to open this February 28th, the new venue spans over 44,000 square feet to accommodate up to 2,200 guests.  (Twice as much as the previous Downtown Disney location.)  Guests will enjoy live music in four unique settings including the main concert hall, the Parish, the lavish Foundation Room, and the Restaurant/Bar area.  What guests will find when they arrive will be the combination of Food, Art, Music, and Excitement at this music hall. (F.A.M.E.)

Food: According to David Fortin, Senior VP of Markting and Promotions, an inviting open indoor/outdoor patio area can be seen from outside and there will be rail seating with 325 seating capacity.  Executive Chef Mark Hagopit brings his talent to showcase House of Blues Southern inspired menu.  Items including the Voodoo Shrimp, Nashville Hot Fried Chicken, and New Orlean Jambalaya and signature cocktails

Art: Two Southern California artists, Johnny “KMNDZ” Rodriguez and Audrey Kawasaki will have commissioned pieces inside House of Blues that will add life and energy to the place. Johnny Rodriguez, a self taught painter, has an impressive portfolio of “artisitic and technological accomplishments in the graphic design and new media” Look for Johnny’s 30-foot mural by the entrance of the venue. House of Blues is known to adorn the whole area with a collection of signature-folk art.  And this location is no exception with a “Flora and Fauna style” style 20-foot wide painting by Audrey Kawasaki visible in the dining area.

In addition to the art throughout the venue, look for massive ceiling with touches of wood and exposure corrugated metal throughout to tie it all in.

Music:

There are 4 rooms to House of Blues: The Concert Hall, The Restaurant/Bar, The Parish, and the Foundation Room. Every room has a stage, so four live bands playing at one time is definitely a possibility.  What is for sure according to House of Blues,  do expect at least one live band playing every night!  Some of the unique qualities of each room are listed below:

For the Parish and that small unique feel, this room will be mostly used for special events and ticketed shows for smaller bands.

The Restaurant/Bar area will have garage doors to change the look an feel for separation.

To enter into the Foundation Room or VIP boxes, you’ll need to take the elevator to the 2nd level.  For the concert area in the mezzanine area, it will be U-shaped with 2 fixed row of seats that holds 2-8 people and waitress service included.
