With its beautiful weather, sandy beaches, and major attractions (Comic-Con, Sea World, Legoland, etc), San Diego is known for being a must-stop destination. This weekend happened to be the opening ceremony for the ice skating rink at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront so I figured it was a perfect time to take a trip to SD. I love the holidays and getting into the spirit of things so I wanted to take advantage of all the special activities the Hilton Bayfront had in store to kick off the holiday season!
My favorite part was the up to scale Nutrition Facts for the Gingerbread House. Could you imagine ingesting all those calories?Onto the alcohol! The San Diego Hilton Bayfront created six unique cocktails as part of their Naughty or Nice specials. These cocktails are served in the hotel at the bar, lounge, as well as outside in the Beer Garden that serves the skating rink! I’m usually don’t drink, but I basically licked my cup clean of the Vixen cocktail, which has coffee, Baileys, Patron XO Intiendo, Frangelico, and whipped cream with a touch of butterscotch.I also quite enjoyed the Peppermint Cookie Martini, which was divine! It wasn’t even fair to call it alcohol. It was like drinking candy! I was licking the peppermint ring around the rim. There were lots of creative details all around the hotel. I loved this huge chocolate Santa and the sign that told you not to touch!
To celebrate the holidays, the San Diego Hilton Bayfront debuted their Holiday By The Bay ice rink. Not only do you get to skate and watch the sun set by the bay, but they play some pretty great jams! They’re also playing Christmas movies at night like Elf. What a perfect holiday movie to sit out on the lounge and enjoy under some blankets!

In addition to the ice rink, there’s also a Beer Garden and Make-Your-Own-Hot Chocolate Stand that uses Ghiradelli’s chocolate! My sweet tooth couldn’t be happier!
