BrewHeehaw at the OC Fair!

Just as I suspected, this Brewheehaw event brought to you by the same guys as the BrewHaha was just as awesome as I had imagined it!

I was able to take the FREE weekend shuttle that was available to Fairgoers. You just have to park at the Experian lot located off of Bristol street conveniently off the 405 freeway.  We’re not talking about the yellow buses here, it was those nice big shuttles with AC lined up to pick up Fair attendees. It was super easy and super fast.  About fifteen minutes after, we were dropped off of the yellow gate area of the fair that were only steps away from the BrewHeeHaw.

Anyway I can save $10 on parking so I can use it to buy one of those big smoked turkey legs, I WILL!

What was kind of cool for this event is that it was tented. Meaning that you didn’t have to endure sun while having great beer. Once inside, all of us beer lovers were handed an actual glass for the tasting! There is nothing I dislike more than having premium beer in a plastic cup!  Though they don’t give you a full pour of the glass, you can always go back for more.

Some of my favorite suds from this event were:

Tongue Tickles from Noble Ale Works

Guava Beer from Legacy Brewing

Bourbon Barrel Quad from Beach City Brewery

Citcoe from Valiant Brewery

Scotch Ale from Bootleggers Brewery

There were plenty more, including Stone’s double and triple IPAs.

But what I really enjoyed at this event unlike most beer events is that there were in and out privileges for the BrewHeeHaw! Not only that, the ticket included admission to the OC Fair.  So I took advantage of it and drank a few brews, left and got some fair food, walked around and sober up and was able to come back and enjoy more beer!

When I was done, I was a happy man. I was able to roam around the fair, sample some more crazy deep fried concoctions, and pet a few animals here and there.

No, I didn’t get a chance to try the deep fried pizza pictured here but I think I will revisit the fair again before they close on August 16 and try some crazy eats like those chocolate covered pork rinds. See a list of fair food available here from the OC Fair website.

If you missed this event, don’t fret. The 6th annual BrewHaha is coming to OC again on Sept 12, 2015 with more than 90+ breweries on 12 acres! Always guaranteed a good time with great beer, see you there!
