LA Winefest, a pioneer in the LA region wine festival is turning 10 this year. Come sip and enjoy a fun and relaxing afternoon with fellow Angelenos on May 30th and May 31st at Raleigh Studios. (There will be a code at the end of this article to get your advance ticket for $48, instead of the $85 gate price, so keep reading) This year expect a large assortment of wines from Temecula, to Napa, to Mendocino region, in addition to some up and coming regions to try out. Hungry? There will be a handful of food trucks and restaurants near by to pair with your libations. For you craft beer lovers, Southern California’s very own Claremont Craft Ales, Reel Brewing, King Harbor Brewing will be on hand. All attendees will receive a complimentary logo glass, unlimited tastings, bottled water, and coffee.
Now, was it “wine before liquor will make your life more vigor?” or was it something else? Whatever you like to enjoy first, you can find the complete list of Beer / Wine / Exhibitors / Food Trucks here.
Something new this years is the boutique wine garden. Roughly about a dozen boutique wineries will be on hand to pour these hard to find wines. Boutique wineries are categorized to produce less than 1,500 cases per year so getting your hands on these hidden gems can be difficult. For a small add on to your ticket, attendees can try out the boutique wineries from Santa Barbara, Sonoma, & Paso Robles. But hurry, tickets are limited to 400 people per day.
Also new this year is the first ever LA WineFest Popular Choice Awards via the Quini wine tasting app via iTunes and Beta version from Android. Winegoers will have the the opportunity to vote for their favorite wine on Saturday from 1pm to Sunday 4pm. Quini will be rewarding everyone with “tokens of appreciation” gifts for every 5 reviews you submit to a chance of winning $100 gift certificate when you submit 10 reviews! Plus, this is a great way to remember your favorite wines from the event, in case your slightly drunken memory doesn’t serve you so well. So download away and try for a chance to win prizes!
Want entertainment? No, I’m not talking about your friend’s jokes after a few drinks. There will be a music stage on hand as well as a main stage providing educational tidbits on wines / food/ and mixology. For a schedule , check it out here.
For 2015, the charitable Beneficiary to the LAWineFest is the non profit organization dedicated to children with cancer, The Sunshine Kids. They provide positive group activities as well as emotional support for young cancer patients. In addition, The Sunshine Kids provides free programs for kids who are receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across North America.
Parking can be found on street (metered on Saturday) and paid parking available at Paramount Studios lots on Bronson and Van Ness.
