Costa Mesa will become the first-ever host of the west coast edition of Indie Chefs Week this October. As the result of a new partnership between Indie Chefs Week and Yahoo! Food, the popular Texas-based culinary event is now making its way to Southern California. Indie Chefs Week SoCal edition will take place October 16-18 at Taco María.

Indie Chefs Week began in 2012 in Austin, Texas, providing up-and-coming chefs from around the country a platform to showcase their cutting edge talents and ideas to new audiences. During the second annual Indie Chefs Week in January 2014, Carlos Salgado, Owner and Head Chef of Taco María, was among the thirty participating chefs. Stemming from his participation and Indie Chefs Week’s recent partnership with Yahoo! Food, Taco María was asked to host the first-ever Indie Chef Week SoCal. The perfect venue, Taco María, located in The OC Mix specialty shopping destination, is a modern Mexican restaurant in the heart of Orange County and was recently named one of the Los Angeles Times’ 101 Best Restaurants of 2014.
Indie Chefs Week SoCal will feature three nights of special prix-fixe tasting menus, developed by a collection of more than 25 of the best young chefs from around the country. On the evenings of Thursday, October 16 and Friday, October 17, twelve chefs will prepare a special 12-course menu for guests to sample. On Saturday night, the entire line-up of participating chefs will cook a feast for audiences that will showcase not only their cooking talents but also their showmanship.

Tickets to Indie Chefs Week offer two dining options, counter and table seating. On Thursday and Friday, prices range from $175 per person for dinner at a table to $225 for counter seating. On Saturday, prices range from $250 per person for table seating and $300 for counter seating. Seating will be limited and early ticket purchasing is strongly recommended.
