If you were lucky enough to have scored tickets to this Saturday’s Pinot Days, you are in for a treat. Hosted at the Skirball Center, Pinot Days promises a diverse line up, featuring wineries from all over California, as well as from Oregon and New Zealand, each with unique, regional styles. Winemakers will also be on hand, pouring wine and answering any and all questions, making this the perfect event for both the avid Pinot-phile as well as those just getting to know this wonderful, thin-skinned grape.
Highlights of the tasting include the avant-garde Siduri, Oregon favorite Sokol Blosser, and Sta Rita Hills stars Foxen, Cargasacchi, and the unabashedly new-world style wines of Loring Wine Company.
Tickets to the tasting, priced at $75, can be purchased here: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/5th-annual-southern-california-pinot-days-tickets-8176272451
VIP tickets offer early access to the tasting as well as participation in a diversity seminar with a sit down tasting of five wines. While sold out on the website, Living Social is currently offering several tickets at a significantly discounted rate for a limited time. I’d suggest snapping them up while you can.
For those unable to make the event, the Wine House is also hosting a pre-tasting on Thursday December 5th. For $35, nine of the favorite Pinot producers will be featured alongside grilled cheese pairings served by in-house chef Todd Barrie.
