Summerfest at Farbar

Summer time in Los Angeles has many elements. Whether you spend it relaxing on the beach, partying on the Sunset Strip or melting in the Valley, everyone can agree that its exceptional! There is a new player in town, and Downtown Los Angeles is now a force to be reckoned with. New places are popping up faster than your twitter feed can handle. Downtown has many areas as well, but a staple for some time now continues to impress. Little Tokyo is an ever intriguing place and Farbar feels like the backbone to this ever growing region.
This past Saturday, Farbar hosted Summerfest, a tribute to the ever popular summertime drinking craft beers. Whether they are easy-drinking session ales, Super hoppy IPA’s or an extremely tart wild ale, Summer beers have no boundary. What is Farbar you ask? Is it a craft beer bar? Is it a japanese gastropub? Whatever category you want to throw it under, they always seem to deliver and this event was no different.  An extensive list of beers were on hand at 3 separate locations throughout the bar which included: Dogfish Head Positive Contact(Deltron 3030), Kern River 6th Anniversary Dirty Hippie, Craftsman Honesty Ale, Beachwood Brewing Melrose IPA, Bruery Tart of Darkness plus many, many more. The food menu was not to be missed by any means. The highlights on the list were Bacon fried rice, Wild Boar sliders and Venison stew.
Summer in Los Angeles has something for everyone, but with the craft beer scene here exploding at an alarming rate, there are always great events to attend. Whether you are looking for a great event or just a great craft beer, Farbar will never disappoint.
Cheers,
Matt McIvor
